16 Cups of blueberries (frozen or fresh)

Mason jars or upcycled jars with secure lids like pasta jars. This will make 12-15 pint size Ball mason jars.
I searched the net and Pinterest and came across Wide Open Spaces Blueberry Pie with a Kick recipe. I made a batch with this recipe with a few tweaks so I could use a whole bottle of Everclear and no vanilla vodka.
Like he says, it has more kick over the Apple Pie Moonshine for sure!
But, I needed more so I did it differently second round. I made my own ‘juice’ mix with a more traditional homemade blueberry pie filling and water. You need 1.5-2 gallons of ‘juice’ per 1 liter bottle of Everclear.
Blueberry juice was harder to find and cost $7.99 for about a liter and pie filling is about $5 a can! Why not just make it for that cost!? LOL.
Ok lets get to it!
2 cups of water, blueberries, butter, vanilla and all the dry ingredients into a pot and bring to a simmer. You could use vanilla beans and cinnamon sticks instead. I used half fresh blueberries and half frozen.
Simmer blueberries till soft, we need to puree this. I let it simmer for 10-15 minutes or so stirring frequently.
Add your lemon at the end after its done simmering.
Im wingin’ it here, Ive never made any sort of pie filing that Im turning into ‘juice’! LOL. Ive made cakes and cookies.
I pureed this the best I could with my crap mixer! My good one died… ug.
Now add 13-16 cups of water and your bottle of Everclear. Stir, stir, stir! You can use your own discretion here on how much water. We are looking for 1.5 gallon to 2 gallons of juice mix.
Time fill your jars, of course I used mason jars and I have this handy dandy mason jar filler do-hicky. A canning funnel, best thing ever!
I filled the jars with a couple spoon fulls of fresh blueberries. You could could add more as fill and get more jars out of a batch. Say half berries and half kick.
The berries will soak up the booze and you’ll have blueberry bombs!
They say cure these kinds of moonshine recipes for about a month in a fridge or cool dark place. At least give it a week or two and it is drinkable immediately.
Mine will cure about three weeks before I gift. I tried to do it earlier but as we all know life happens! LOL. I shake it every few days.
Add my free printable mason jar tags and you have your perfect gifts! This is a transparent PDF file that will print on standard US paper/card stock size. Nine tags.
I have people waiting for the moonshine this year after last years apple pie! LOL. Have you made homemade moonshine?

I can’t wait to make this recipe, I’ve always wanted to make a blueberry
flavored moonshine and your recipe makes alot of sence to me. I will
let you know how it turns out. Thank you. I can’t get the bottle tags
to download. would you please email them to me…
How do you seal the canning jars or do you even need too? If they don’t seal do you then have to refrigerate the blueberry moonshine?
Thanks!
They are not sealed. I did store them in the fridge. You really dont have to because of the alcohol but I did anyways.
I want to download the tags but it wouldn’t let me. I plan on making this tomorrow.
Did you check your downloads? I’ll email you a copy.
Mine solidified like actual pie filling (with the burn of everclear lol). Is it the cornstarch? Should it be left out or cut down?
You could leave it out if you wanted. I made it like real pie filling for this recipe. It thins right out with the booze! haha.
How much vanilla did you use?
I added a tablespoon, I cant believe I didnt add it! My bad! haha.
